1.3.1 TS-201 DTMF Test Set The TS-201 analyzes the DTMF output of a cue demodulator or a videotape with pre-recorded DTMF tones and displays both the tone sequence (up to eight digits) and an average of the audio levels received. The display latches until reset by the receipt of a new tone sequence. This test set stores the following characteristics for up to 100 events. An event is defined as a received DTMF tone sequence. -
The DTMF tones received (to a maximum of eight tones). This information can be retrieved in two ways. -
The data can be output to a printer with a serial interface. The cue tone source can be terminated into the TS-201 or the test set can be installed in the audio circuit between the cue source and the commercial inserter. An earphone jack is provided to allow the operator to monitor the incoming tones.

3.3 Operation 3.3.1 TS-201 DTMF Test Set The TS-201 will receive up to eight DTMF tones within a two second period and display both the sequence received and the tone level. As the tones are received, the peak voltage of each is read by the TS-201 and the levels of the entire tone sequence are averaged. Two seconds after the last tone has been received, the display will show the tones and the average input level. Both the tone sequence and the average level are stored automatically in a log in memory along with a time and date stamp. This log can be output to a printer with a serial interface or downloaded to a computer containing terminal emulation software. A disk with this software for the DOS environment is included with the TS-201. The TS-201 mode is selected from the keypad. The ALT (alternate) key lets you use the upper functions labeled on the keypad. The ALT key automatically resets when another key is pressed.
